First they said it would be 2012 (not counting the other past predictions. Now they say it will be 2014. Who believe this?

Well, I'm pretty confident that 2012 is for real, but I certainly don't think it's an end- and nor do a majority of the people I've met who take psychedelics and approach them as teachers.
There is evidence all around us that these are very climactic times, and something very big is going to happen out of the turmoil that is engulfing our societies. But there are those of us who spend our lives being humans- we are freed from the boundaries placed upon an apparent 'reality' (eg. by incorporating the psychedellic experience into our lives)- and we are able to experience energy vibrating at different frequencies from the limited bandwidth of the physical world.
I first noticed this on DMT, and my immediate reaction was
"What the hell has humanity been doing for so long?"
Fighting wars? Slaving for money? Supporting addictions to TV and consumerism?
We are starting to wake up, one by one.
We are reviving the parts of our minds that were for lost for so long.
What we are potentially looking at in five years time is a reincarnation of human consciousness, out of old supressive habits and into a new age of enlightenment.

I have much to say on this, but that's my shot at introducing the idea. Let it be added to the pool of discussion.

There's a big chunk that I started writing, but then realised that it wasn't really good for introducing the idea. I don't want to delete it though so I'll just post it below.
This idea gave alott of direction to my thoughts on 2012.
The ancient Greeks spoke of an Eschaton- an object or force at the end of time that pulls everything toward it, kind of like a black hole. Terrence McKenna worked on this idea allot, among many (I strongly suggest YouTub'ing him). He developed a mathematical fractal algorithm based on the prophetic geometrics of the ancient I-Ching.
When plotted, this algorithm (called Timewave Zero) seemed to chart very accurately the regression of novelty in human history. Then on December 22nd, 2012, the wave stops.
This prompted Terrence to research more into this date, and found that this is exactly the date that the Mayan calendar ends on.
What he proposes is that the thing at the end of time is a 'hyperdimensional package' that is a universal attractor, polling everything towards this point.
That is, everything in the human mind.
This could very well explain why human perception of time (for we now know that time is only a human perception) is linear, aka directional.
And it would explain why we are advancing at increasing velocity, for we are getting closer to the escahton, and the gravitational-like pull is stronger.

I really don't care that much...

Honestly, no..

Just like I don't care about terroisme, heart attacks or other death scenarios.

Or, maybe care is the wrong word... worry might be better...

I am not worried the slightest bit.

In my experience, being worried about something prevents you from enjoying the moment that is right now. And seeing how there is nothing I can possibly do to prevent an enourmous acidic cloud that is a milion miles wide from disolving our entire solar system, I don't worry about it.

If it happens, it happens. Shitty thing, but hey, deaths needs a reason too Smiley

Yes, I completely agree with you! Living for the moment is ideal, unless there are elements to the past or future that make the moment even better
(eg. The obstacles in my life right now are made easier by anticipation of my planned trip to Peru)
(eg 2. Psychedelic trips and their teaching echo through time, and help us in the present)

p.s. I was in the middle of makig an LSD-related comeback to your acid cloud, and then I realsied something: Isn't it weird how LSD and other amnides are acids, whereas all plant alkaloids are (obviously) basic. Weird

Not going that far out.

I just don't worry about what I can't change...

I am overweight and currently just started a fitness program (finished week 1 out of, well, I don't know, this program got 4 weeks, there is another with 16, planning to do both.. perhaps twice.. so thats 40 weeks.. won't mind even more if needed), but my overweight is something I can do something about; Actually, I am the ONLY one who can do something about it, so I do.

As I see it, it is quite simple to find out what you should be doing with your life:

Ask yourself this question:

What would you sincerly wish you had started a half/entire/several years ago, so you would be done with it by now?

For me, the answer was that I would wish I had started a weight loss program a half or entire year ago so I could be fit now.

Then I OWE it to my future self that he doesn't have to sit in 6/12 months time and still wish for that same thing!

good for you and i'm glad to see that you care about yourself. i'm trying the same thing(not the fitness) because of a friend of mine who do the things he has to do at the right moment and a lot of other things that makes him feel good with himself and i try to do like he does and it feels really good when in the end of the day i can say well that was a good day Tongue

Good philosophy Mr NiceGuy! I just wanna add that whilst it's nice to not to woryy about things, not thinking about them at all isn't going to solve the problem forever. All our fears need to be addressed at some point in our lives.
However, I am not trying to spread panick and confusion, because I am very excited by the prospect of a change for the course of human history, for a chance to reconnect the human noosphere with the spiritual.
